Data centre and green IT? Yes, it's possible! During the day, the servers are powered entirely by the solar plant with a total output of approx. 39 kWp and so we also contribute a little to the greener IT landscape.
By oversizing the photovoltaic system, on good days we feed more energy into the grid than we consume ourselves.
This means more security for our customers, in addition to our emergency generator, the server operation is secured, as was impressively demonstrated in 2014 during a power failure. The server simply continued to run on solar energy.
